John Ottman

Founder, Oscar Winner

John Ottman is an Oscar and BAFTA winning film editor, in addition to his acclaimed work as a composer, producer, and director. Ottman holds the distinction of being one of the film industry’s highest grossing composers, often scoring and editing his films simultaneously.

Ottman has completed both tasks on 150 million dollar blockbuster films as well as smaller awards offerings which include: Bohemian Rhapsody, The Usual Suspects, X-Men 2, Superman Returns, Valkyrie, X-Men Days of Future Past and X-Men Apocalypse. Ottman produced the latter two Fox/Marvel X-Men films and is preparing to direct his next feature while acting as Consulting Producer on Star Trek Discovery.

As a thirty year veteran of film scoring, Ottman’s body of work includes Lake Placid, Gothika, Halloween, Unknown, Nonstop, the X-Men franchise, the Fantastic Four franchise, Superman Returns, The Invasion, Astro Boy, The Cable Guy, and his renowned and inventive collaborations with writer/director Shane Black on Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys.
