The Hollywood Creative Alliance has announced the winners for the 2024 Astra Film Awards, the Astra Creative Arts Awards, and the Astra TV Awards.

The organization hosted two ceremonies – a luncheon and dinner – on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles. Actor, Comedian and Writer Peter Kim hosted the Astra Creative Arts Awards and 2x Emmy and NAACP-winning Comedian Loni Love hosted the Astra Film Awards.

Universal Pictures’ Wicked came out on top with eight wins including Best Picture, Best Director for Jon M. Chu, Best Actress for Cynthia Erivo, and Best Supporting Actress for Ariana Grande (tie with Zoe Saldana).

Coming in second place, Warner Bros. Dune: Part Two and Netflix’s Emilia Pérez received four wins each; with Emilia Perez breakout star Karla Sofía Gascón receiving a fifth special honorary Astra Game Changer Award.

Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated sequel had a stronghold in the creative arts categories including wins for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Sound, and Best Visual Effects.

While Emilia Perez received four wins including Best International Feature, Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana (tie with Ariana Grande); and Best Original Score and Best Original Song for Composers Camille and Clément Ducol.

Other top winners include Timothée Chalamet for Best Actor for A Complete Unknown; Kieran Culkin for Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain; Anna Kendrick for Best First Feature for Woman of the Hour; Jesse Eisenberg for Best Original Screenplay for A Real Pain; The Wild Robot for Best Animated feature; and Saturday Night for Best Cast Ensemble.

Additionally, the Hollywood Creative Alliance honored Costume Designer Colleen Atwood with the Inaugural Artisan Icon Award, Composer Kris Bowers received the Artisan Achievement Award, and Cinematographer Giovanni Ribisi received the Artisan Breakthrough Award at the Astra Creative Arts Awards.

Actress Monica Barbaro will be the recipient of this year’s Astra Breakthrough Award for her role inThe Great Unknown; Karla Sofía Gascón will receive this year’s Astra Game Changer Award for herperformance in Emilia Pérez; Nickel Boys Cinematographer Jomo Fray will be the recipient of this year’s Artisan Spotlight Award; Actress-turned-writer/director Jennifer Esposito will receive this year’s Astra Filmmaker on the Rise Award for her directorial debut, Fresh Kills.
