The cast of ‘Shrinking’ made a surprise appearance during the Post-Production Editing Panel at the Think Apple TV+ Emmy House. The event took place on May 18 in Hollywood, California, surprising Television Academy Emmy voters and guests in attendance.
Actors Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, Luke Tennie and Ted McGinley, alongside Co-Creator/showrunner Bill Lawrence all took to the stage to say hello to the audience, before joining the reception where they mingled with guests as they enjoyed food, drinks and explored the activations. A ‘Shrinking’ bench was among the activations on hand.
Lawrence, Segel, and Brett Goldstein co-created the series, which was named as one of AFI’s Television Programs of the Year. Its first season earned Emmy nominations for actors Jasen Segel and Jessica Williams. Most recently, Michael Urie took home the Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Shrinking started as a comedy series where a grieving therapist, Jimmy (Jason Segel), breaks the rules and tells the blunt truth to his clients. In ignoring his own training and ethics, Jimmy starts changing people’s lives as well as his own. The series has certainly grown into a true ensemble comedy series where the writers have found the right balance between work and home life. Co-creator Goldstein joined the cast as a recurring character in season 2, portraying drunk driver Louis Winston.
