Film Review: ‘Project Hail Mary’ Reaches for Big Ideas but Struggles to Deliver the Emotion

"Project Hail Mary" delivers clever scientific puzzles and a compelling cosmic premise as Ryan Gosling’s reluctant hero searches for a way to save humanity. Yet despite imaginative ideas and an intriguing alien partnership, the film never slows down enough to build the emotional depth that made "The Martian" such a satisfying experience.
